Natural Cork, a truly remarkable material is used for all stoppers produced at Amorim Top Series Unit - The specialized facility dedicated to the production of Top Series.

    Sustainability

Cork harvesting is an environmentally friendly process during which not a single tree is cut down. The bark renews itself ready for the next harvesting.

Unlike artificial closures, cork is an inherently sustainable resource, both renewable and biodegradable. The cork oak tree (Quercus suber) is unique in that its thick bark can be stripped off every decade to extract the cork without damaging the trees, which can live 200 years on average.

Careful forest management not only provides for the continued extraction of the cork oak but helps to create the conditions for a diverse range of other products that are harvested from the woodlands. A harmonious balance is maintained, where local people can provide for their needs without damaging the ecosystem or threatening the long-term sustainability of their most important natural resource.

The cork oak is a slow growing tree that may live for 200 years, which allows it, on average, to be stripped 16 times during its lifetime. The first stripping only takes place after 25 years, when the trunk of the tree has a circumference of 60 cm.

    Developed by Nature

A sustainable resource, cork is sourced from cork oak forests - a unique ecosystem that provides an effective barrier against both social and environmental desertification. Cork is a 100 per cent natural product that contributes directly to environmental sustainability through the preservation of biodiversity and the retention of over 10 million tones of CO2 Annually.

FOOD STANDARDS All Amorim & Irmãos, S.A. products comply with current regulations and legislation (European and FDA - Food and Drug Administration) for products in contact with food.

    Recommendation to Users

Amorim & Irmãos (A&I) TOPSERIES Unit advises users to:

    Selection and Storage of Stoppers

      - TopSeries Unit should previously receive bottles in order to calculate the required stopper from the analysis of the configuration of the neck of your bottle;
      - A&I stoppers should be used on short term (up to 6 months);
      - Store in a well-ventilated room with controlled temperature between 15°C and 20°C and 50% to 70% humidity.

    Inserting the stopper

      - Ensure insertion of the stopper is performed smoothly.
      - Minimize moisture on the inside of the bottle neck.
      - The ideal bottling conditions are: temperature between 15° and 20°C and humidity between 50-70%. Bottling under different conditions may require non standard products, to be specified by A&I, TopSeries Unit;
      - Avoid thermal shocks between the drink and the bottle.

    STORAGE AND TRANSPORT

      - After bottling, always keep bottle upright;
      - Ideal bottle storage conditions are 15°-25°C at 50-70% humidity;
      - Keep the facilities free of insects;
      - Bottles should be kept in an upright position while stored and during transport.

    Maintaining Equipment

      - Ensure the corking machine operates smoothly;
      - Clean all cork-handling surfaces regularly with chlorine-free products;
      - Ensure all dust is eliminated using air sprays in strategic positions, particularly prior to stopper insertion. Frequent cleaning of the corking device is very important.

Top Series stoppers are conceived for drinks with alcohol content between 15% and 45% vol. Different alcohol content may require a non standard cork and should be duly analyzed by A&I, TopSeries Unit.
A&I, TopSeries Unit should be informed specifically about what type of drink will be bottled with TopSeries corks.

IMPORTANT: for white spirits, only non-standard TopSeries corks are recommended. In such cases, A&I should be informed, previously, in order to propose the most appropriate solution.

  • AMORIM seals £100,000 whisky

    2010-04-01

Leading cork producer CORTICEIRA AMORIM has revealed that it provided the premium corks used to seal the world’s most expensive whisky. Only three bottles of the £100,000 Dalmore Trinitas 64 were released last month and two have already been sold to private collectors — one in the US and one in the UK.

Located in the Scottish highland town of Alness, The Dalmore distillery is renowned for housing some of the oldest and rarest single malt whiskies.

The Trinitas 64 is a unique combination of spirits from the 1868, 1878, 1926 and 1939 vintages topped up with a vintage from the 1940s. The blend matured for a further two years in a handcrafted 9-litre American white oak cask that was seasoned with rare whiskies from The Dalmore and two ancient sherries.

The packaging of the Dalmore Trinitas 64 reflects the brand’s aristocratic heritage and positions the whisky alongside the world’s most luxurious goods.

Three handcrafted crystal decanters were commissioned to house the rare whisky. These were made using hand-blown crystal of class leading quality. The decanters are dressed with The Dalmore’s iconic royal stag’s head, an engraved neck foil and the master distiller’s signature, which were all hand made in sterling silver by award-winning jewellers.

The superbly crafted stopper comprises a rich dark timber, silver finishing and at its core a natural cork body — the top-of-the-line ‘Prestige’ cork from CORTICEIRA AMORIM’s Top Series® range. The bottle is presented in a cabinet that took over 100 man-hours to make. Shaped by highly skilled craftsmen, the cabinet is made from English oak encased in a Macassar ebony veneer. It has a hidden drawer to hold the authenticity paperwork and the key to a unique lock created by London’s oldest locksmith Brahma. A scroll tube has been turned out of a solid piece of Macassar ebony and finished by hand with a silver collar in the centre.

“The whole package is an amazing testament to the work of the team involved and you cannot fault the quality of every element,” said US buyer Mahesh Patel who was delighted to get his hands on the first bottle. “But the real prize for me is the whisky itself, and that is what makes The Dalmore special.”

Following its commercial release at the start of 2010, the Top Series® cork closure range has quickly made its mark in the premium spirits market. Earlier this year Top Series® was chosen to seal the world’s oldest bottled single malt whisky, the Mortlach 70-year-old released by Gordon & MacPhail.

CORTICEIRA AMORIM’s director of marketing and communication Carlos de Jesus said the Top Series® range was developed to create the highest quality custom-made packaging solutions for the premium spirits sector. The closure range combines natural cork’s performance and sustainability attributes with elegant materials, new technology and cutting-edge design.

“The packaging of the Dalmore Trinitas 64 was important and CORTICEIRA AMORIM is proud to be part of this amazing product which has made history in the world of whisky,” said Mr de Jesus.

“Our association with The Dalmore is typical of the strong relationships CORTICEIRA AMORIM is building with the world’s leading spirits producers.”

    “Superlatively Divine Brandy/ Prince Wittgenstein”

    2011-04-01

CORTICEIRA AMORIM created a special cork stopper for the “Superlatively Divine Brandy/Prince Wittgenstein”, an exclusive limited edition of a 50-year-old brandy recently launched by Tiraspol Wine & Distillery Kvint, the oldest and most highly regarded of Moldavia’s winegrowing companies (founded in 1897), regarded as a national emblem of the Transnistria region.

With a limited production run of 2500 bottles (numbered 0001 to 1897 and the rest marked “exclusive edition”), this is a truly exclusive product of unequalled quality.

Oleg Baev, CEO of Kvint, asked for the assistance of CORTICEIRA AMORIM with this project for the packaging (cork stopper + Atlantis crystal bottle + wooden box). As a result, since June 2010, the team provided all resources necessary for the launch of the “Superlatively Divine Brandy/Prince Wittgenstein”, creating a customised, exclusive stopper from the Top Series® collection which combines the benefits of natural cork with performance and distinctive design, aimed at meeting the needs of producers of premium spirits.

For the launch, which took place on 4 October, the Kvint house chose Bender Castle, a stunning and emblematic setting, bringing together a number of special guests including Igor Smirnov, President of the Moldavian Republic of Pridnestrovie, senior representatives of local government and a number of diplomatic representations including Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and others. Also present were Count Wittgenstein (a descendant of Prince Wittgenstein and President of the German Castles Association and Vice-President of the European Castles Association), Kvint distributors from 14 countries, including in particular a delegation of over 30 distributors from all over Russia, Álvaro Tavares and Pedro Venda, Director and Sales Director at Vista Alegre Atlantis and João Paulo Amorim, Director at CORTICEIRA AMORIM, accompanied by António Valente, CORTICEIRA AMORIM’s regional representative, among many others.

The ceremony paid tribute to Prince Wittgenstein for his dedication to the region, where he established vine plantations originating from Germany and became an important driving force for the production of wine and brandy in the region, which continue to this day.

The warm words of Olag Baev’s speech also included a special thank you to Américo Amorim and the entire Amorim family, recalling how over 20 years of partnership, Mr Américo Amorim has been an example of entrepreneurship on a global scale, and how he himself in, his professional life, often seeks to follow the example of this great friend.

The Lean Kaizen Award recognizes CORTICEIRA AMORIM’s

    2012-04-18

Raro, a member company of the CORTICEIRA AMORIM Group, was given the award for "Excellence in Productivity" at the 1st Kaizen Lean Award competition organized by the Kaizen Institute. This award recognizes the enhanced performance and increased efficiency in the production of capsulated cork stoppers.

The awards ceremony will take place tomorrow, Thursday, April 19th, at 3:00 p.m., at the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation, in Oporto, Portugal, with the presence of Masaaki Imai, the founder of the Kaizen Institute and author of the Kaizen method.

The beginning of the collaboration between Raro and the Kaizen Institute dates back to 2007, the year when Raro embarked on a Total Flow Management project, a productivity improvement method supported by various tools, such as the 5S method. After a consultation process that took place recently, Raro was distinguished for its successful use of this program and its compliance, so far, with the measures identified as priority for its success. The Kaizen Award distinguishes companies that excel in a deep-rooted culture to strive for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.

"This award honors us greatly and demonstrates the importance of CORTICEIRA AMORIM’s commitment for continuous improvement, process innovation and training of its employees as a way to ensure an excellent, sustainable and competitive performance. The emphasis on continuous improvement is critical to the success of Raro; to that end it is essential to have qualified and motivated staff prepared to innovate and fulfill the most demanding operational requirements" said Victor Ribeiro, CEO of Amorim & Irmãos.

CORTICEIRA AMORIM has been implementing the Lean Kaizen program since 2007 with a view to enhancing operational efficiency across all Business Units. An average of about 3000 hours of training is allocated annually to this purpose.

The Company recorded a total of 38,786 hours of training in 2011, an average increase of 2.1 hours of training per employee. This has been a relentless process; in fact, in 2009, approximately 50,000 hours of training were provided. Our objective is thus to ensure adequate answers in terms of quality, deadlines and productivity with a view to meeting the business activity requirements.

CORTICEIRA AMORIM sponsors Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame awards

    2012-10-31

CORTICEIRA AMORIM sponsored the Icons of Whisky 2011/2102 Awards, an important fixture of the whisky calendar at which the sector's most influential bodies and personalities are voted each year.

The Icons of Whisky Awards involve three presentation phases, held in Scotland, the US and London, with the participation of key figures of the worldwide whisky industry from marketeers to master distillers, producers, suppliers and opinion leaders.

Whisky Magazine's international jury elected the winning panel in a keenly contested voting process, with a significant novelty in relation to previous years: the Lifetime Achievement award was discontinued in favour of the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame. In line with the format of previous editions, the competition was initially addressed to participants in Scotland, the US and London, but was later extended to include other countries such as Japan, Canada and Ireland.

Each edition of the Icons of Whisky Awards is surpassed by the next in terms of quality, reflected in rising numbers of international participants, which is in turn a sign of the upward trend enjoyed by the market.

    LEGEND
The awards were handed over by Hugo Mesquita, sales manager for the Top Series capsulated stoppers.

The new website will be the privileged vehicle for involving partners and unveiling the brand’s latest news.

    My Top Series

By inputting key technical specifications, clients can experiment with different solutions, choose between the four segments on offer, and visualize the best-fit for their product.

Top Series® seals Glenfiddich 125th Anniversary Edition

    2013-03-14

Furthering its supply of deluxe capsulated cork stoppers for the world’s premier spirits brands, Top Series® has designed a luxury stopper for the exclusive Glenfiddich 125th Anniversary Edition.

In celebration of the first bottle of whisky produced by the Glenfiddich distillery on Christmas Day 1887, the 125th Anniversary Edition aims to recreate the unique Victorian distilling techniques developed in Speyside - Scotland’s malt whisky capital.

The limited edition is available exclusively for travel retail, initially solely in India, via Delhi Duty Free, retailing at €83 (£70) per 70 cl bottle.

The outstanding packaging of this high-end whisky is designed as a gift pack - the most popular travel retail segment.

Presented in an attractive gold tin, including a certificate of authenticity and product leaflet, the bottle is sealed with a superbly crafted copper-topped cork, featuring the magic number “125” in the centre.

This new copper-topped cork stopper is integrated within the "Elegance" segment of the Amorim Group’s Top Series® range.

Through its provision of a one-stop-shop for all bartop stopper requirements - spanning Prestige, Elegance, Premium and Classic Value segments - the Amorim Top Series Unit is positioning itself as the world’s leading supplier of capsulated cork stoppers.

Keeping the genie in the bottle

    2013-07-30

Top Series® records significant sales growth across its four segments.

Cork stoppers can be traced back to ancient Egypt, but only enjoyed widespread use from 1680 onwards - when the Benedictine Dom Pierre Perignon disseminated the use of conical cork stoppers to seal his bottles of fine Champagne.

Unlike wine stoppers, which have a standardised diameter, bartop stoppers for spirits come in all shapes and sizes and many vintage stoppers have acquired exclusive collector’s status.

Natural cork stoppers are synonymous with luxury and quality and constitute a sine qua non in the expanding high-end tier of the spirits market.

TopSeries stoppers certified by the FSC

    2013-07-30

Since 2009, Amorim is the world’s first packaging company to be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

The FSC seal can be found in all of Amorim’s ranges of cork stoppers including, first and foremost, the TopSeries range.

The FSC seal indicates that the cork used has been sourced from a certified cork forest and that Amorim upholds sustainable, environment-friendly and socially-responsible processes throughout the value chain.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), in liaison with other international organizations such as the European Cork Federation have highlighted the importance of cork forests as a classic sustainable resource and Corticeira Amorim has been a key partner in this process.

The FSC seal is coveted by packaging clients and prized by end-customers, given that certified products are increasingly valued in the global market, especially when certification is associated to sustainability and environmental protection.

FSC certification provides a competitive advantage throughout the spectrum of natural cork stoppers, from mass-market products through to exclusive limited editions.

Certain retailers, such as Sainsbury’s in the UK only use cork stoppers that have been certified by the FSC and its seal increasingly represents a sine qua non for any cork stopper.

Clients can specifically order FSC-certified cork stoppers, produced according to a strict chain-of-custody methodology.

Amorim currently has 36 production units certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, complemented by multiple ISO certifications in the fields of hygiene, quality and environmental management, together with observance of the International Code of Cork Manufacturing Practises in all cork stoppers sold.

Amorim is not only the world’s first supplier of cork stoppers with an FSC certification it also offers a unique offer in this regard that sets it apart from the competition.

The TopSeries range offers a one-stop shop for natural cork stopper solutions and the FSC seal forms part of this integrated offer, ensuring that clients can find the perfect stopper for their packaging requirements which in turn will generate maximum appeal for retailers and end consumers, while helping to protect our most valuable asset – the planet!

Amorim Top Series launches revolutionary Freedecor service

    2016-09-30

In response to the growing demand for personalized packaging solutions, Amorim Top Series has launched a revolutionary printing technology for capsulated stoppers – Freedecor - that enables any design or image to be printed on the stopper.
The Top Series unit stands in the vanguard of technological innovation to satisfy clients’ needs and expand packaging design possibilities.

Freedecor is based on a technology never previously used in the spirits packaging sector, which enables any design or image to be printed on the capsulated stopper in perfect harmony with the rest of the packaging.

For example, if an existing design or image is used on the label or has been printed on the bottle, Freedecor can source the same motif and print it on the stopper, in seamless continuity with the rest.
The design process can also work in reverse – an innovative design developed for the stopper by the Top Series unit, may then be applied to the rest of the packaging
Until now, the range of design options for capsulated stoppers has been largely based on uniform or predominant colours, determined by the type of materials used, for example wood or metal, semi-precious stones, or moulded plastic.
Complicated patterns could only be produced by painting the stopper.

If a special mould was required for the stopper it could take 10-12 weeks for it to be produced.  But with the new Freedecor solution any finish can be applied to the stopper, with a very fast turnaround, thus enabling limited editions on tight deadlines to be produced.
Initially Freedecor is available for Classic Value segment with plastic topped stoppers but it is planned to be made available for other segments with materials ranging from metal or glass in the near future.

The new service enables decorations to be produced that have never previously been seen in the sector.  The stopper can have either a matte or brilliant finish and offers an almost infinite gamut of extremely attractive solutions.
Hence the name – Freedecor - because of the huge panoply of choices available.

The new service makes it easy to produce limited editions associated to standard products, thus enabling an infinite range of declinations.
The first prototype applications of Freedecor were produced in 2015 and have been subject to extensive validation tests - to check for robustness against exposure to oxidation, humidity, alcohol etc.
The tests have confirmed that the service provides an excellent durable finish.

Amorim Top Series is currently discussing the first commercial applications of the service with clients, which are expected before the end of 2016.

Amorim TopSeries “Whitetop” stopper seals award-winning Windspiel Premium Dry Gin

    2016-09-30

Windspiel Premium Dry Gin - that was recently awarded a "Special Mention" in the Excellent Communications Design category of the German Design Awards - is sealed with Top Series’ pioneering "Whitetop" stopper, a capsulated cork stopper specifically designed for white spirits.

Amorim Top Series, part of the Amorim Group, the world’s leader in the production of natural bottle closures, commercializes an exclusive range of capsulated cork stoppers for the world’s most celebrated spirit brands.

Over recent years the Company has been expanding its presence in the White Spirits sector.
Following a major research programme based on advanced technology and rigorous testing, Amorim Top Series has recently unveiled the Whitetop stopper - a premium cork closure solution designed for white spirits.

Laboratory validation tests confirm that Whitetop stoppers deliver excellent performance when used with white spirits, in key parameters such as colour migration, dust migration and sensorial neutrality.

Whitetop corks thus offer a new world of possibilities for natural cork, adding value to both the products and market recognition, since the new corks guarantee the integrity of Client’s products at all levels - from visual to organoleptic performance.
Windspiel Gin’s core concepts of sustainability, clarity and elegance made natural cork the obvious choice to seal the dry gin - which uses raw alcohol produced from potatoes which the owners grow on their farm in the Volcanic Eifel.

Dennis Lönnendonker, Authorized Signatory at Windspiel explains that she chose Whitetop because the company wanted a sustainable and unpretentious design, that would be simultaneously "stylish and attractive. So we conveyed this idea in the details such as the cord on the cork, the golden ring and the little flag."
Windspiel’s cork stopper is rounded off by a small flag with royal character that refers to the origin of the brand name, given that it was Frederick the Great who discovered the potato in Germany and his second great passion was greyhounds, or in German "Windspiel".

Premium whiskies consistently sealed with cork

    2016-09-30

Over recent years one of the strongest growth trends in the whisky market has been expansion of demand for premium, high-end and super-premium whiskies around the world, especially in mature markets such as the UK and US and in high-growth markets such as China.

Demand from Asia has revolutionized the whisky business, with 54% of total whisky sales now generated by the Asia and Pacific zone, according to data from Technavio.
Premium brands are gaining market share across all markets, driven in particular by Irish whiskey and single malt Scotch whisky brands.
For example in the US, blended Scotch whiskies have shrunk by about 1.6 million cases since 2000, while sales of single malt scotch whisky have mushroomed - recording 7% growth in 2015, and almost tripling sales since 2000, according to data from Impact Databank.

High-end premium Irish whiskies have increased sales by 589% since 2002, according to DISCUS, while the super-premium Irish whiskey segment has expanded 3,054% in the same period.

Consumers are consistently trading up to more premium whiskies, which use greater personalization of their packaging to distinguish their offer.
Leading brands have segmented their offer into different declinations, with high-end and super-premium declinations recording the highest growth.
Cork is the preferred stopper for the spectrum from premium through to super-premium whiskies, in light of cork’s premium image and unique sealing characteristics. Cork stoppers have consolidated their market share in this segment over recent years.

In the case of single malt Scotch whiskies, leading premium whisky brands - such as The Glenlivet, The Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie, The Balvenie and Laphroaig – consistently use cork capsulated stoppers.

This trend has been further powered by the increasing number of craft distilleries, the vast majority of which use cork stoppers.
The numbers speak for themselves - while there were 109 independent distilleries operating in the U.S. in 2010, there are more than 700 in operation today.
Amorim TopSeries has been able to capitalize on this premiumisation trend in the whisky trade, given its in-depth knowledge of its clients’ requirements, local presence in key markets, use of more noble, ecologically-friendly materials, and its one-stop-shop approach that ensures that the stoppers’ design is tailored to the clients’ overall packaging objectives.

Given that attractive and sophisticated packaging is essential to building the market share of high-end whiskies Amorim TopSeries foresees significant further growth of its provision of stoppers to this segment, including the development of increasingly innovative solutions in order to satisfy customer demands.

Amorim Top Series has access to the finest natural cork and profound knowledge and expertise of all materials used in its capsulated stoppers.
As demand for capsulated cork stoppers rises across the globe, the refurbished industrial unit can respond to this rising demand in terms of volume and faster turnaround between the initial order and product delivery.

This combined effort will enable Amorim Top Series to consolidate its presence in existing markets and enter new fast-growing markets.

Cork capsulated stoppers are increasingly popular in fast-growing areas such as gin, rum, premium whiskies and vodkas, and craft beers

    2017-10-10

Over recent years there has been a marked trend in the drinks business towards premiumisation, that has affected all segments, from limited edition wines and craft beers, through to high-end whiskies, and small batch gins.

Consumers are looking for new and original experiences, and cork is a key driver of this trend, since it guarantees both a superior seal and is viewed as a sign of class.

Capsulated cork stoppers distinguish leading spirit brands and are collected by many people as treasured souvenirs.

Amorim TopSeries has been able to capitalize on this premiumisation trend, given its in-depth knowledge of its clients’ requirements, local presence in key markets, use of more noble, ecologically-friendly materials, and its one-stop-shop approach that ensures that each stopper’s design is tailored to the clients’ overall packaging objectives.

One strong area of growth in use of capsulated cork stoppers is the world of white spirits.

Over recent years Amorim Top Series has been expanding its presence in this sector, and following a major research programme based on advanced technology and rigorous testing, Amorim Top Series recently unveiled the Whitetop stopper - a premium cork closure solution specifically designed for white spirits.

Laboratory validation tests confirm that Whitetop stoppers deliver excellent performance when used with white spirits, in key parameters such as colour migration, dust migration and sensorial neutrality.

Whitetop stoppers have recently been adopted by brands such as Germany’s Windspiel Gin.

For white spirits such as tequila, cork has been used for many years by leading producers and distributors. In Mexico for example, around one third of the leading brands use cork to seal their tequila products, with an even higher percentage in bottles intended for the export market.

Many of the leading Mexican tequila brands use cork stoppers, for whom use of a cork stopper has become an important sign of premiumisation.    Premium tequila brands use capsulated cork stoppers with deluxe tops, to distinguish themselves from the competition.
Examples include Patrón, Milagro, D. Julio, Avión, Cofradia, 1800.

Cork stoppers are also making significant inroads into the vodka market, especially amongst high-end vodka brands – which is by far the fastest growing segment. Brands that use cork stoppers include Chase Distillery, Chopin, Belvedere, Soplica.

The booming gin market has also embraced cork stoppers, especially amongst small batch gins and premium gin brands who use cork capsulated stoppers to distinguish their products from the competition. Examples include: Hendrick’s, Gin Sul, Ferdinand’s Saar, Elephant Gin, Gillemore, Filliers, Caorunn, to name but a few.

The expanding craft beer segment is another important example of this new premiumisation trend and has enjoyed rapid growth over recent years, in contrast to the static overall beer market.

A report disclosed by The Brewers Association in March 2017 revealed that the craft beer segment grew by 15% in 2015 alone, and by a further 6% in 2016. Whereas mass retail beer brands typically use artificial closures, craft beers are increasingly opting for cork stoppers, due to their superior sealing performance and a packaging design that clearly distinguishes craft beers from mass market beer brands.

Use of capsulated cork stoppers is also increasingly popular in the whisky market, especially in the segment of premium, high-end and super-premium whiskies.

Premium whiskies - like other premium brands in areas such as craft beer, vodka, gin and tequila - value cork stoppers as a means of adding greater prestige and personalization to their packaging.

Cork is the preferred stopper for premium to super-premium whiskies, in light of cork’s premium image and unique sealing characteristics and cork stoppers have consolidated their market share in this segment over recent years.

In the case of single malt Scotch whiskies, leading premium whisky brands - such as The Glenlivet, The Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie, The Balvenie and Laphroaig – consistently use cork capsulated stoppers.

As with craft beers, the trend towards use of cork stoppers has been further powered by the increasing number of craft whisky distilleries, the vast majority of which use cork stoppers.

In some markets – e.g. several countries in Asia - cork offers the additional benefit in terms of preventing counterfeit spirits entering the market. Cork-sealed bottles are easier to control and offers an additional security element, which is vital to distributors.

This cross-segment trend has significantly increased demand for capsulated cork stoppers from Amorim Top Series, which provides stoppers in four main segments: Prestige, Elegance, Premium and Classic Value.

Inventions such as Whitetop stoppers will make further inroads into the booming white spirits markets.

By allying cutting edge technologies, innovative design skills and premium quality cork and finishing materials, Amorim Top Series is a key force in the powerful trend towards greater use of capsulated cork stoppers worldwide, currently exporting to over 100 markets.
